Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Did you know that 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime? Mental Health awareness is important not only for individuals, but for families as well. The more you are aware and learn about it, the more you can be present and support those closest to you whom are directly impacted. Everyone will encounter events in their life that affect their mental health, and the number one predictor of whether or not someone will develop persistent symptoms after such events is social support.

Mental health is essential to overall health and wellness. It is important to recognize that Mental Health conditions are common and treatable. For those currently struggling, know that it is possible to find and learn the tool necessary to build resilience and support you on your path to healing.

To observe and celebrate this month, Terra Dusa will be posting new content on our social media accounts following a separate topic for each week! Follow us in the links below for free easy interventions, mental health tips & education.

Week 1: Mental Health after a Crisis

Week 2: Supporting Ourselves and Our Community

Week 3: What does Trauma Look Like?

Week 4: Healing Relationships

P.S. To help spread awareness, Mental Health America is encouraging everyone to take a mental health screen.
